4. Alabama 51, Louisville 14
Don’t lose to Alabama twice. Or two times. Or more.
Every once in a while, decent teams get Alabamad and never quite recover from getting destroyed in an ugly blowout. With Indiana State and WKU up next, Louisville shouldn’t have a problem getting past the pain.
However, there are positives to take away from the beatdown.
Jawon Pass hung tough. Nothing was working, but he kept fighting and kept slinging it, finishing with 252 yards and two scores with two picks.
There was no running game, but no one’s running on the Crimson Tide.
There was no answer for Tua Tagovailoa along with the Bama running game, but no one outside of the elite of the elite will have an answer for any aspect of the Tide attack.
The Cardinals kept fighting late – as opposed to USC a few years ago in its opener against Bama – and there were a few decent pass plays to spread the ball around.
It’s one game against the No. 1 team in the country. Whatever.
