Before you get all hot and bothered with what you’re about to read …

Did you really think North Carolina was going to be 3-9 last season?

If someone told you before the season that Boston College would go bowling after a 2-4 start, or that Florida State would have to beg for a date with ULM to get a sixth win and a bowl appearance, would you have believed it?

How about if someone suggested that Syracuse was going to beat Clemson, and then lose its last five games?

They’re the wild, wacky, and crazy things that make each season fun, exciting and special. Throwing five (potentially) stupid predictions at the wall to see if they stick …

5. Everyone from the Atlantic will go bowling

Really? All seven teams from a division are going to get a swag bag game?

It’s not actually all that far-fetched. Syracuse was the only team in the Atlantic  that didn’t go bowling last year, and it would’ve come close had it not gacked away the Middle Tennessee game early on.

This year, the Orange will beat Western Michigan, Wagner and UConn for a base of three wins, and it’ll find a way to get three more victories to finally get over a hump under Dino Babers.

Wake Forest might have a wee bit of a rough time early with QB Kendall Hinton suspended for three games, but it’ll manage to get to six wins. Boston College will battle its way to six, too, needing a win over Syracuse in the regular season finale to get there.

Clemson, Florida State, Louisville and NC State will be no-brainers.
