Wyoming Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

With all of the experience returning on the defensive side, and with the offense certain to be far better – it can’t and won’t be any worse – this is a potentially deadly team in the Mountain West race.

But first, it has to do that again defensively. There are too many great players coming back to not be special.

All of a sudden, considering Josh Allen was a first round pick by Buffalo, Tyler Vander Waal will be the next quarterback up on the radar. Why? He’ll actually get the passing attack moving and the offense will start to be a big-time positive.

There will be moments when the defense doesn’t hold up, or it doesn’t take the ball away a gajillion times, but there’s more than enough talent in place to go bowling for a third straight season while being deep in the hunt for the Mountain West title again.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 6.5

There aren’t any absolute, no doubt, sure-thing losses on the slate. Going to Missouri will be a problem, but even that’s doable on the right day, as is the home game against Washington State.

If the Cowboys are as good as their experience, beating New Mexico State, Hawaii and New Mexico can’t be a problem, and taking down Wofford, Utah State and San Jose State at home is a must. That’s six wins right there – or at least five.

Throw in a home win over Air Force, or maybe a road victory over Colorado State, and getting to seven wins shouldn’t be a problem.
