West Virginia Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
This is the year West Virginia finally breaks through and becomes the team everyone was wining for in the Big 12. That’s been said before, but now it has the weapons, the experience, and the down year for the conference needed to rise up and rock.
The offense might just be the most dangerous in the Dana Holgorsen era, with Will Grier bombing away to so many veteran receivers, and with enough backs to do far more to try balancing things out.
There will be shootouts, even though the defense has enough veterans to be better, and the Mountaineers will be on the right side of most of them.
No, they won’t be in the College Football Playoff hunt, but they will be good enough to play in Arlington on the first weekend of December for the Big 12 title.
Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 7
Nasty to start, decent in the middle, and absolutely brutal in the end, the Mountaineers have to at least split in the big non-conference battles against Tennessee and at NC State, and then they have to get off to a hot Big 12 start.
Kansas State, at Texas Tech, Kansas, at Iowa State, Baylor. They can afford to maybe lose one game in that group, but no more, because of what’s coming next.
At Texas, TCU, at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma. Win three of four, and it’s off to the Big 12 Championship. Win just two of these four, and it’ll be a nice top four finish season, but ultimately, it’ll be disappointing for a team this strong.
