USF Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

There might be a few huge losses on both sides of the ball, and this might be a massive rebuilding season in a lot of ways, but this will still be one of the favorites to win the American Athletic championship with the talent there to be sensational.

The running game won’t slow down – even without QB Quinton Flowers – but the passing game will take a wee bit of a dip. Overall, the offense will be good enough to roar against the mediocre teams and hold on against the stronger AAC teams on the slate.

The biggest X factor is a defense that dominated when it came to getting into the backfield, but will have to rely on the secondary early on to be the star. The key is to get through the first half of the year. By the second half, the D will be rolling.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 8.5

The first seven games and nine of the first ten are against teams that didn’t go bowling. However, one of those is against Georgia Tech – at least that’s at home – and one is against an improved Illinois. The Bulls will split those two, and roll through everyone else until they have to go to Houston.

They’ll lose to the Cougars again, and they’ll drop one of the two dates against Cincinnati and Temple on the road. However, they’ll get by UCF in Tampa to take the East and get to the American Athletic Championship.
