Preview 2018: UNLV Rebels. And Here Comes The Payoff

UNLV Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

Last year’s team should’ve, could’ve and would’ve gone bowling, but it gacked away the opener to Howard, lost to a miserable BYU, and got hit with a loss by a horrible Nevada team – and it still finished with five wins.

As long as Armani Rogers really does rise up into the star quarterback he’s supposed to be, the rest of the pieces are there for this to be among the Mountain West’s most dangerous offenses.

The defense can’t be any worse, and it won’t be with new defensive coordinator Tim Skipper generating a pass rush. There will be times when the Rebels get pounded on way too easily, but there aren’t a lot of power teams on the slate.

As long as Rogers is good, and the run defense isn’t horrendous, there’s. great chance to go bowling for the first time since 2013.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 6

UNLV … don’t blow the FCS game like you did last year against Howard. The Rebels will get by Prairie View A&M, and it’ll beat UTEP and New Mexico for a nice base of early wins.

There’s no Boise State to deal with, but going to San Diego State will be an issue. Beat San Jose State on the road, split the Utah State and Hawaii road games, and take down Nevada, and getting six wins and beyond won’t be a problem.
