Troy Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

There’s a whole lot to get excited about to keep all of the momentum going.

The losses in the backfield might be just enough to be a problem for the offensive consistency early on, but the line will be among the Sun Belt’s best and the receiving corps will be fantastic. That should be enough to roll through most of the Sun Belt defenses.

The heat will keep on coming from the defense that was so nasty last season, but it’s way too much to ask for another year allowing 24 points or fewer in the first 11 games, and winning the other two, anyway.

Even so, this will still be among the most aggressive Ds in the Sun Belt, and it’ll be dominant at times against the mediocre offenses.

The Trojans will be strong enough overall to get to the Appalachian State game with a chance to play for the Sun Belt title, but the Mountaineers will take the East.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 8.5

The program that won 21 games over the last two years might not be quite as strong, but it won’t be all that far off. As long as there isn’t a clunker game like last year’s 19-8 loss to South Alabama, all will be fine.

They’ll drop the dates with Boise State and Nebraska in nasty battles, and they’ll lose the regular season finale against Appalachian State on the road. Unless there’s a massive upset, the Trojans will take care of everyone else in between on the way to nine wins before going bowling.
