Ohio Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

THIS time, Ohio will get to the MAC title game … as long as it beats Buffalo.

The Bobcats might have a whole slew of issues on the defensive front to deal with, but they get the first month of the season to deal with all of that before opening up MAC play against Kent State – they’ll be fine.

There will be some down moments with road games at Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, but there will be a clean sheet against the East – that will be enough to get in.

The offense will be explosive, the defense won’t be any worse against the pass, and the program will make up for its whiff last season with a strong finish-the-drill type of season.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 8.5

The tune-up against Howard to kick things off will be a light scrimmage before getting a week off to deal with Virginia and Cincinnati on the road. The Bobcats will be 2-2 at worst before going into the MAC world, but with a stretch of eight games in nine weeks against teams that didn’t go bowling last year, there’s a chance to bulk up the record.

They’ll be good enough to split the road games against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, but they’ll end up losing both, they’ll take care of improved Bowling Green and Ball State teams at home, and close out with wins over Buffalo and Akron to get to the MAC championship.
