Memphis Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

The machine isn’t stopping.

The players have been terrific, but the system and coaching are good enough to keep it all going no matter who’s handling the attack. However, WR Anthony Miller really was special, and the experience of QB Riley Ferguson will be missed.

But Brady White – assuming he gets the gig – is every bit as talented as any quarterback the Tigers have had, and the ground game will take over a bit more at times. Even so, the offense will take a wee step back as the defense starts to do a wee bit more.

It’s hardly going to be an Alabama-like D, but the experience will matter. There’s enough talent in the secondary to clamp down a little more on third downs to at least get off the field on a more regular basis.

It’ll all be enough to get to the final weekend of the season with a shot at taking the West again – it’ll all come down to the date against Houston. They’ll get it done.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 8.5

There isn’t a game on the schedule the Tigers can’t win. In conference play, they’ll take down UCF at home, but even more importantly, they’ll get past Houston in the regular season finale. However, they’ll drop the opener to Navy and will have to chase, but they’ll be able to do it.

Throw in a loss in a shootout at Missouri, and even a misfire somewhere across the board against an SMU or a Tulane on the road. But even with two conference losses, they’ll get back to the American Athletic title game.
