Arkansas State Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
Forget about pulling off a win at Alabama, but if the Red Wolves can beat Appalachian State, anything less than a ten-win regular season will be a massive disappointment, and not winning the Sun Belt West will be a disaster.
The passing game will continue to dominate and Justice Hansen will put up massive numbers behind a strong line. But the turnovers will still be a problem, and this time around the defense won’t be quite good enough to pick up all the pieces.
The pass rush won’t be as good, but the secondary will be solid and the D will simply need to do just enough to let the O win games. And ASU will win a lot of games.
Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 9
ASU will get to the Sun Belt championship, mainly because it’s in the West.
Appalachian State, Troy, and even – likely – a resurgent Georgia Southern are all in the East, while none of the teams in the West other than the Red Wolves went bowling last season.
That doesn’t mean ASU can take it easy – going to Coastal Carolina and Texas State might be more dangerous than it appears – and there will be a whiff along the way against some mediocre team, but at least it’ll be off to the title game with a chance to take the inaugural crown in the new divisional format.
