Wisconsin Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

The Badgers will be better than the 2017 version, and they won’t have the record to show for it.

The schedule has some real, live, dangerous games to deal with, and the program is way, way, way overdue for one of those brain cramp turnover-fest performances against an Iowa or a Northwestern – both games are on the road.

But the defensive parts will be patched up fast thanks to a brilliant year from an almost unstoppable offensive machine.

The best offensive line in college football will pound away for another 3,000-yard rushing season, and all of a sudden, the wide receivers will be a major positive for the first time in a very, very long time.

The special teams will be brilliant, Alex Hornibrook will show that he really is a solid quarterback – even with his limitations, like his arm strength and penchant for picks – and the team will steamroll its way through the West again on the way to another Big Ten Championship appearance.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 10.5

At Michigan, at Penn State. Will the Badgers win both of those? They can afford to lose one and be just fine in the national title chase, but then there can’t be any mistakes on the road at Iowa, Northwestern or Purdue.

Nebraska, Illinois, Rutgers and Minnesota are all going to be far better, but all four failed to go bowling last season, and all four have to come to Camp Randall.

Bucky will split the massive showdowns in Ann Arbor and Happy Valley, and drop one other game along the way, but they’ll will ten games.

For this team and its goals, that will be a disappointment.
