ULM Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
The 4-8 days are gone – at least for now – as the program will be bowl eligible again for the first time since 2013.
The offense will make up for a whole slew of mistakes. It wasn’t able to do it last season enough to make a big difference, but the D will just strong enough at times to survive a few shootouts.
The inconsistencies on the defensive front and in the secondary will be enough to keep the Warhawks from the West title, but they should be going into the final two games of the season – going to Arkansas State and facing Louisiana – with a chance to take the division.
Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 5.5
Remember, ULM will have to buck history to get past the six win mark – the program just doesn’t come up with winning seasons.
The Warhawks will almost certainly lose on the road to Southern Miss, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Can they manage to lose fewer than three more along the rest of the way?
There are four dangerous Sun Belt road games, including back-to-back November battles against South Alabama and Arkansas State. Throw in the home game against Troy, and pushing for six wins is a good goal.
Get an upset or two, and the second winning season in almost 25 years of D-I ball will be there.
