South Carolina Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
The Gamecocks were able to win nine games despite having a whole slew of issues. This year’s team will be far better on third downs, more explosive with the passing game, and with a lot more scoring.
The USC team that was able to keep winning despite scoring an average of 24 points per game will bump that up by maybe ten points – the O will start to be very un-Will Muschamp-like.
The defense won’t be the best in the SEC, but there won’t be any meltdowns and it’ll be efficient enough to keep taking the ball away when needed.
Yeah, this is when it’s time to get excited about South Carolina, and yeah, with Georgia coming to Columbia, this might be the SEC’s relative sleeper in the chase.
Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 7
This one should be easy.
As long as there aren’t any massive hiccups, the Gamecocks should beat Coastal Carolina, Marshall and UT Chattanooga at home, and should get by Vanderbilt and Kentucky on the road. That’s five wins if everything goes right.
They should be able to handle Missouri at home, and at least split home games against Texas A&M and Tennessee. Even budgeting in a possible rough performance loss at Ole Miss, and/or a loss at Florida, and with losses predicted to Georgia and at Clemson, getting past seven wins won’t be a problem.
