San Diego State Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

Even with the Aztecs losing a first round running back in Rashaad Penny, a slew of key tacklers, and No. 1 receiver Mikah Holder, this might be the best Aztec team yet under head man Rocky Long.

The offensive line should absolutely be the strongest since he took over, and all of the other pieces are in place to do what the Aztecs have done over the last few years, only more so.

Even with a few nasty Mountain West road games at Boise State and Fresno State, SDSU will get back to the conference championship game for the third time in four years.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 10

So here’s the deal. At Stanford, Arizona State, at Boise State, at Fresno State. Win two or more of those, and finish with ten wins or more. Lost three of them, and barring a total whiff, finishing 9-3.

The Aztecs will have problems with the Cardinal on the road in the opener, and they’ll split the road games at Boise State and Fresno State. But, again, will there be another misfire somewhere in the mix to keep the regular season total to under ten?

Dealing with Sun Devils won’t be easy, but that’s about it. It’ll take something crazy – like a brain cramp at Nevada, or the wrong day against the Air Force offense – to suffer another loss.
