North Carolina Prediction: What’s Going To Happen
The Tar Heels will still need a while.
Will the offensive line come together to be good enough to make the offense a big-time thing again? Not quite.
Will the defense be appreciably better and start generating more big plays? It hasn’t been good in years, so why will it be better with a whole lot of turnover?
It’s all about the O. As long as the UNC attack is able to keep the chains moving and hit around 35 points per game, it’ll be okay. But it’ll be another inconsistent and frustrating year – but with a few more wins.
Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 6.5
Just how much of an aberration was last season? The schedule is easy enough – no Clemson, no Florida State, Virginia Tech and NC State at home – to get on the right side of some close calls, but it’ll be a fight to get bowl eligible.
The Tar Heels can’t slip against East Carolina on the road or UCF at home, and they’ll need to one home against Pitt and Georgia Tech to get in range of six wins. Out of road games at Syracuse, Virginia and Duke, there has to be at least one win to get to a six victory total, but it might take two to do more.
