Miami Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

The defense is going to be every bit as amazing, and the offense just a bit more consistent and explosive.

Last year’s O was okay, but it needed the D to do its whole Turnover Chain thing to kickstart a few games. This season, the offense will do more of the heavy lifting, even when it won’t have to.

The turnovers will start flowing again right away, with a loaded back seven that’s about to get a whole lot nastier with the Striker position. But remember, even with all of the fun, and even with all of the success, it still took a few minor miracles to get by mediocre Florida State and Georgia Tech teams, and the North Carolina and Syracuse wins were way, way too tough.

There will be times when Miami blows the doors off an offense that can’t handle the pressure, but it won’t be smooth sailing. The Canes – even with a loss to Virginia Tech on the road – will get back to the ACC Championship, but they won’t be a win away from going to the College Football Playoff.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 10

Forget about surpassing this if the Canes lose to LSU in the opener. Road dates at Boston College, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech will be an issue, but they should be good enough to win two of them – not all three.

Will FSU come up and Taggart them in the middle of the year? Will there be a slip against North Carolina? Nah – assume Miami wins ten regular season games again with a chance at an 11th in an ACC title game rematch with Clemson.
