2018 Pac-12 Early Win Totals Released: Where's The Value?

Pac-12 South

Arizona Wildcats

The love and excitement will be there over Kevin Sumlin and QB Khalil Tate – and it should be. The schedule isn’t all that bad, missing Washington and Stanford from the North, and getting USC and Oregon in Tucson.

Arizona State Sun Devils

ASU will probably be undervalued because no one will buy into the idea that Herm Edwards will do a whole lot. It’s a nasty schedule with Michigan State, at San Diego State, at Washington, Stanford, at USC, at Oregon, at Arizona, and … yikes. The team is good enough to assume six wins – or close to it.
What The May Win Total Should Be: 5.5

Colorado Buffaloes

Don’t sleep on the Buffs. It won’t be 2016 all over again, but this should be a dangerous team with at least five wins baked into the cake – Colorado State, New Hampshire, Oregon State, and then two of the three home games with UCLA, Arizona State and Washington State. Expect a sixth victory – like against Utah or at Cal – as part of the projection.

UCLA Bruins

Really … good luck figuring this out. Chip Kelly didn’t have his quarterbacks in place this spring, and he didn’t implement his offense. The Bruins will lose to Oklahoma, but getting Washington, USC and Stanford at home might help a bit. It’s Chip Kelly – there will be a trip to a bowl game.

Current Actual Win Total: 5.5

USC Trojans

Considering the quarterback situation is still not totally settled, there’s a little bit of a concern with road games at Stanford, Texas, Arizona, Utah and UCLA, along with the Notre Dame home game. This team seems a whole lot like the 2015 version that went 8-6.

Utah Utes

If it’s not Cal up in the North, here’s your sleeper team in the Pac-12 race, mainly because it joins Colorado as the only team in the South not going through a major change at coach or quarterback. There are wins to be had, with Weber State, at Northern Illinois and BYU providing a likely good base. However, the Utes have to play Washington, Stanford and Oregon from the North.
