Baylor

Wait and see.

Charlie Brewer was one of the few bright spots of a brutal Baylor season, rising up in his true freshman campaign hitting 68% of his passes for 1,562 yards and 11 scores with four picks, and he could run a little bit, too.

He’s a baller, and he’s just good enough to keep the momentum going from all the time he logged in last season, but in a rainy and weather-shortened final scrimmage, there wasn’t much to take from it.

There also wasn’t much to take away from what backup Gerry Bohanon did, throwing fine in the loss to Brewer’s side.

But because spring games are spring games, it was the walk-on – Preston Heard – who made the most noise, coming up with a few nice runs and hit a clutch touchdown pass.

The real work begins in fall camp once NC State transfer Jalan McClendon comes in.

The grad transfer is big, strong, and extremely talented, but he wasn’t going to push Ryan Finley out of the starting job for the Wolfpack. He’ll still have to push to find his spot on the depth chart, but he wouldn’t have picked the Bears if he wasn’t almost certain he’d be able to take over the gig.

Best Guess On Fall Depth Chart: 1) McClendon, 2) Brewer, 3) Bohanon
