Pac-12 Sandwich/Letdown Games

The dangerous games in between bigger games the teams have to get up for.

Pac-12 North

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Nov. 3 at Washington State

Washington State is too good to be a true letdown moment – unless the game before it is against Washington and the next two games after are at USC and against Stanford.

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Sept. 29 at California

The Ducks can’t look past this game with a week off right after to rest up and prepare for Washington. Before the Bears? Stanford comes to Autzen.

Oregon State

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Sept. 15 at Nevada

More of a letdown than a sandwich – Southern Utah comes the week before – the Beavers can’t take anyone lightly. With the Pac-12 slate starting out the next week against Arizona, they have to be ready for the Air Raid attack.

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Sept. 15 vs. UC Davis

It shouldn’t be anything more than a light scrimmage, however, it’s coming off the USC game and with at Oregon and at Notre Dame right after.

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Sept. 29 vs. BYU

This shouldn’t be a problem if Washington really is that good, but before it comes the revenge game against Arizona State, and after is the interesting showdown at UCLA.

Washington State

Sandwich/Letdown Game: Nov. 10 at Colorado

The three weeks before this? Oregon, at Stanford, and the revenge game against Cal. It’s November dog days road game, and the Cougars have to be ready.

Pac-12 South

Sandwich Game: Oct. 6 vs. California

The Kevin Sumlin Pac-12 era starts out against USC, and then comes this date with the Golden Bears. Just six days later is the dangerous date at Utah, followed up by a trip to UCLA.

Arizona State

Sandwich Game: Nov. 3 vs. Utah

The Utes are going to be worthy of worrying about, but it’s an early November game the Sun Devils will have to get up for after handling Stanford and a trip to USC, and with UCLA and road trips to Oregon and Arizona to follow.

Sandwich Game: Sept. 15 vs. New Hampshire

Be very, very careful. New Hampshire got into the FBS playoffs last season and finished with a nine-win season – and it’ll be good again. Colorado has to deal with the Wildcats after going to Nebraska and with a week off to follow and UCLA to follow.

Sandwich Game: Nov. 10 at Arizona State

The hype will be there with the Chip Kelly vs. Herm Edwards fight, but it’s coming off the trip to Oregon – no emotion there for Kelly – and with USC and Stanford to follow.

Sandwich Game: Nov. 10 vs. California

Call this a Stay Focused game. No, going to Oregon State the week before shouldn’t be a problem, but Cal could’ve be a letdown game with the UCLA showdown the week after and Notre Dame to follow.
– Spring Analysis | Schedule Breakdown

Sandwich Game: Oct. 12 vs. Arizona

Blink, and Khalil Tate and the Wildcats will be a big, big problem. The Utes will be coming off of road trips to Washington State and Stanford and with USC to follow.
