Middle Tennessee Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

It all depends on whether or not QB Brent Stockstill can get through the season healthy. If he does, and if he’s playing all 12 games, there were be a 13th, and maybe a 14th – the team is good enough to play for the Conference USA title.

The kicking game needs a little bit of a boost, turn turnovers have to slow down, and the secondary has to pick off more passes, but overall, the pieces are there to be among the league’s top teams.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 6.5

Start with the assumption that the Blue Raiders will lose at Georgia, and they’ll probably lose at Vanderbilt and Kentucky, too. That’s at least three losses right off the top, and then assume at least two losses against the C-USA four-piece of games against Florida Atlantic, at Marshall, at FIU, WKU.

However, the team will be good enough to come up with a few upsets and hold its own with the conference big boys. It’ll be good enough to at least get to six wins and go bowling, but getting that seventh can and should be a fight.
