Preview 2018: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs

Louisiana Tech Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

After cranking out three straight nine-win seasons, can the Bulldogs bounce back from last year’s 7-6 campaign?

The team will be better, but it’ll still be a fight just to go bowling.

The O line will be fantastic, the skill guys will be better, and the defense has the parts to be among the best in the conference, but the schedule is an annoying bear with too many sneaky-tough road games.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 7

Here’s the problem. Assume Louisiana Tech has a base of at least five wins with home games against Southern, UAB, UTEP, Rice and WKU – and that’s a big assumption against the Blazers and Hilltoppers – and guess that beating South Alabama in the road opener won’t be a problem.

At LSU, at North Texas, at UTSA, at Florida Atlantic, at Mississippi State, at Southern Miss.

How many of those can the Bulldogs win?

If they can pull off two, they’ll get to seven, or past it. But that’ll be about it. They’re going to be too good to not be at least 7-5, but they’ll need to be fantastic to get more. 8-4 is the likely ceiling.
