Louisiana Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

The Ragin’ Cajuns have a whale of a head coaching prospect in Billy Napier, and that has to be enough to overcome a whole slew of issues.

The quarterback situation will be settled quickly – Levi Jones might just be the one to sink or swim with – and the rest of the skill spots are solid. But can the defense be better and lose most of the key parts at the same time?

Not really.

Even with all of the problems and issues last season, ULL still went 5-7 and would’ve hit at least six wins with a few decent defensive stops. It shouldn’t take too much with a relatively light schedule to at least hit the .500 mark.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 6

Again, there’s a whole lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, but still, the basics are in place offensively to win enough shootouts to beat Grambling, Coastal Carolina, Texas State and New Mexico State. Beating South Alabama and ULM would be nice, and coming up with an upset somewhere against an Arkansas State or Georgia State would be wonderful.

There are too many problems to push for more than seven wins, but getting to 6-6 and becoming bowl eligible is a reasonable ask.
