Colorado Prediction: What’s Going To Happen

It’s going to be a rough run at times, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope for a bowl season.

The schedule just isn’t that awful.

The Buffs have too many big replacements on both sides of the ball, too much uncertainty, and too many question marks to get into the Pac-12 South title hunt. If QB Steven Montez can be amazing, they can hang around in the shootouts, but are the rest of the weapons in place?

The defense has to be far, far stronger, the O line play has to be far, far better, and there can’t be any slips whatsoever against the winnable teams on the slate.

Guessing The Preseason Regular Season Win Total Will Be Set At … 5.5

Assume Colorado can get by Colorado State again, and New Hampshire needs to be a sure thing – even if it’s not. The big problem is replacing Texas State on the non-conference schedule for a trip to face Nebraska in an old school Big 8/12 showdown.

But six wins are possible with home games against Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon State and Washington State all winnable.

Take care of three of those, win two of the three non-conference games, and the Buffs are right there for a sixth win and a bowl with an upset somewhere along the way.
