Preview 2018: Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

What You Need To Know About The Coastal Carolina Defense

Biggest Key To The Coastal Carolina Defense

The D has to get off the field with more big plays and more third down stops. The CCU defense didn’t do nearly enough to turn games around with takeaways. They generated a mere 11 turnovers, with just one interception over the first seven games and six fumble recoveries. CCU was 2-1 when coming up with two takeaways, and 1-8 with fewer.

The bigger problem was coming up with a third down stop, with opposing offenses converting 48% of their chances. CCU allowed teams to convert over half of their third down attempts in a whopping seven games.
