2018 NFL Draft Guard & Center Rankings: From The College Perspective

By

1. OG Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame

6-5, 329: As close to as possible to a perfect guard prospect, he’s right out of the lab for everything you’d want.

The size is perfect, the toughness is perfect, the punishing run blocking ability is perfect, and the power is perfect – he’s everything every NFL team wants.

Okay, so there are a few concerns about dealing with the ultra-quick interior defenders, and he’s been banged up from time to time, but if it’s possible to turn guard into a glamor spot, Nelson might be able to do it.

Blasting open holes for a running game can be sexy.

Okay, yeah, he’s a guard, but there’s no need to overthink this.

Instead of guessing on other prospects in the top ten, take Nelson, stick him in the interior, let him be an annual Pro Bowl fixture.

Projected Round: Top Ten Overall
Real Value: Top Five Overall
