All You Really Need To Know About UCLA (21-11)

(Pac-12), RPI: 23. 11-seed

In an odd year, the Bruins found a bit of a groove, only to lose it late with two straight losses before making some noise against USC and in the Pac-12 Tournament. And then they ran into Arizona. Even so, with a slew of dangerous scorers starting with Aaron Holiday, the offense is there to crank it up.

Fantastic on the boards, this was one of the Pac-12’s best defensive rebounding teams, triggering things for easy baskets and the 82 points per game. The D, though, doesn’t force turnovers and allows a ton of points in shootouts. It makes up for it by being the Pac-12’s best team from three.

All You Really Need To Know About St. Bonaventure (25-7)

(Atlantic 10) RPI: 23, 11-seed

The Bonnies deserved better. After winning 13 straight games, they got bounced from the A-10 Tournament by Davidson. Yeah, they’re in, but it was by the skin of their teeth. With two incredible scorers in Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley, the offense can crank it up, but it’s not a deep scoring team.

They don’t take too many threes, and they get hit with a whole lot of fouls, but they’re a well-coached team that doesn’t turn the ball over and it hits the outside shot it takes. It’s not necessarily a high-powered offensive squad, but it led the conference averaging 78 points per game.

What’s Going To Happen

St. Bonaventure has to hit everything, because it’s about go get rebounded in a big way.

Get ready for a fun shootout between two offenses that’ll get up and down the floor in a hurry, but the big difference will be the UCLA three-point gunning. The Bonnies might be great from outside, but Bruins do it better.

UCLA has a whole lot of flaws, and it’ll have a nightmare time defensively, but it’ll survive a close, tight game with a whole slew of momentum swings. The Bruins will hit the big threes at the right time.
