2018 UAB Blazers Football Schedule Analysis
– The Blazers kickoff Year Two of the rebirth with a sure-thing win, getting Savannah State while still taking it relatively easy at Coastal Carolina a week later. Tulane isn’t all that tough to close out the September portion of the non-conference slate, but the payback is coming. The Blazers have to go to Texas A&M in mid-November.
– The big conference division date with Louisiana Tech is on the road, but Southern Miss and North Texas have to come to Birmingham. The UTSA game is also at home – there’s no real excuse to complain about the divisional games – with road games at Rice and UTEP just not that bad.
– Missing Florida Atlantic from the East is a plus, but closing out the regular season at Middle Tennessee is a problem. Opening up the Conference USA season against Charlotte is a nice break. There’s no Marshall or WKU, either.
