2018 Old Dominion Monarchs Football Schedule Analysis

– Bobby Wilder’s club has to deal with a feisty Liberty team on the road to kick things off – it’ll be the Flames’ first game as an FCSer. And then it’s right into Conference USA play, getting FIU at home before going to Charlotte.

The Florida Atlantic and WKU games are on the road, but the Monarchs get Middle Tennessee and Marshall at home. There’s a rough midseason run of three road games in four weeks and four in six games – they need to take care of the home dates.

– Along with facing Liberty, ODU gets to host Virginia Tech and, late in the season, VMI. September finishes up with a trip to East Carolina, and that’s coming after dealing with the Hokies and before going to FAU.

– There’s no Louisiana Tech or Southern Miss to face from the West, but North Texas is on the slate. At least that’s at home, and closing out the regular season at Rice isn’t too awful.
