All You Really Need To Know About Michigan
It wasn’t all that pretty, but the Wolverines managed to get by Montana 61-47 by guarding well from three and hitting 45% from the field – the Grizzlies connected on just 32% of their tries. Charles Matthews came through with 20 points, but the offense sputtered too often.
The Wolverines continue to be terrific defensively, and they’re not turning the ball over. It’s a clutch team playing with a whole lot of positive momentum. They’re normally not good on the free throw line, but they’re hitting the big ones.
All You Really Need To Know About Houston
A last second shot pushed the Cougars past San Diego State 67-65 in a grind. Rob Gray was the hero with 39 points, but there wasn’t much happening from the supporting cast – no one else scored more than nine.
The Cougars foul too much, but the defense is amazing – it was for stretches against the Aztecs – and they’re great on the boards. However, they were out rebounded by SDSU.
What’s Going To Happen
Michigan is playing too balanced and too well. The defense will clamp down on Gray just enough to slow down the Cougar O, and the front court will get the job done on the boards. It’ll be another battle for the Wolverines, but they’re used to it by now. The defense will get the job done.
