2018 Houston Cougars Football Schedule Analysis

– The Cougars don’t seem to want to leave Texas, playing in their home state for the first five games and in nine of the 12 games. They kick things off at Rice, host Kevin Sumlin and Arizona, and then make the trip to Texas Tech before getting a break against Texas Southern. With a week off to follow, they don’t start out the AAC season until October.

– They don’t have to face UCF from the East, but they get USF at home. They also miss Cincinnati and UConn in interdivisional play. They go to East Carolina and host Temple outside of the West.

– After starting out the AAC slate against Tulsa, they get three road games in four weeks, including a battle at Navy. Not helping the cause are road trips to SMU and the regular-season finale against Memphis. However, there’s also a run of three home games in four weeks with the Temple and Tulane dates to use as tune-ups for the Tigers.
