2. USC Trojans

Current Odds To Win The National Title: 45/1

Everyone was in love with the Trojans as one of the favorites last year – kicking things off at 6/1 to win it all. That obviously didn’t work out so hot, but there’s a much, much better value this year.

Is this as good a USC team? Nah, but there’s still a whole lot of talent with a great O line, another fantastic defensive front with a few injured parts back, and the lessened expectations likely a bit more of a plus.

Road games at Stanford and Texas are both before September 15th, and then things get relatively easy. There’s no Washington or Oregon from the North, and the remaining road games are Arizona, Utah, Oregon State and UCLA.

The Notre Dame game closes things out in Los Angeles.

Forget about getting through this unbeaten, but 11-1 isn’t asking for the world – the Pac-12 South is still just okay, not amazing. Do that, get back to the Pac-12 title game, and then a spot in the CFP will be there for the taking.

At 45/1, it’s not awful to take the shot that this might be the year everything breaks right for the Trojans.
