3. Miami Hurricanes
Current Odds To Win The National Title: 45/1
Or, go ahead and throw in Virginia Tech here, who’s also 45/1.
It’s about who’ll have the opportunity to get the opportunity. Had Miami beaten Clemson in the ACC Championship last season, it would’ve been in. Who’ll get that chance at – most likely – Clemson this time around?
Figure the winner of the Miami-Virginia Tech game will at least get to the ACC title as the Coastal winner. The showdown is in Blacksburg, but the Hokies are missing a whole slew of key parts on defense and have to start out the season at Florida State.
In terms of value, Miami starts out the season against LSU in Arlington. If it wins, that 45/1 is going to go down in a big hurry.
The rest of the schedule works out nicely, with no real concerns outside of road trips to Boston College and Georgia Tech before having to deal with the Hokies.
With another great defense, and an offense that could and should be more dynamic, the Canes should get back to the ACC Championship. They’ll get that opportunity to get the opportunity.
