What’s going on? Arizona QB Brandon Dawkins to transfer
Arizona Loses QB Brandon Dawkins
It wouldn’t be a Kevin Sumlin program without a quarterback transferring.
With Khalil Tate looking like one of college football’s likely big stars over the next few seasons, especially 2018, former starter Brandon Dawkins will transfer.
He’ll graduate in May, making him one of the more interesting grad transfers on the market.
The 6-3, 210-pounder started the first part of last season, completing 61% of his passes for 732 yards and five scores with four pick, and ran for 459 yards and eight touchdowns. As a sophomore, he struggled throwing the ball – hitting 54% of his throws for 1,345 yards and eight scores with six picks – and ran for 944 yards and ten touchdowns.
Now with Tate firmly established as the main man, it’ll be a fight for the No. 2 job. Andrew Tovar, K’hari Lane, and Rhett Rodriguez – Rich’s son – will be in the fight, but new recruits Kevin Doyle and Jamarye Joiner will get their chances, too. Only Rodriguez has thrown a pass in live action.
