Where did the top offensive tackle prospect choose?
Alabama doesn’t win everything.
Top tackle prospect Nick Petit-Frere pulled off one of the shockers of National Signing Day by blowing off Notre Dame, not staying close to home for Florida or Miami, and not taking off for Clemson or Georgia.
He decided to become an Ohio State Buckeye.
Urban Meyer and OSU got the last say in the matter, with Petit-Frere making his campus visit to Columbus late in the process, but he’s got all the tools.
At 6-5 and 265 pounds, he’s not all that huge yet, but he’ll easily add at least 20 pounds to his frame and be a quick, agile left tackle.
Into his studies and not just football, he’s going to take school seriously. On the field, though, he’s tenacious with a great drive for the ground game.
And now, even though Ohio State might not have the No. 1 class, it got the guy. It got the one key part to the puzzle it’ll need. It got its anchor.
