2018 Toledo Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

– The defending MAC champs come out hot with a win over VMI to tune up for the home showdown against Miami. Even with a week off to prepare, coming up with a win might be asking for too much. Even so, they survive a firefight against Nevada and beats Fresno State on the road in one of the best Group of Five vs. Group of Five non-conference games of the year.

– There’s no problem to start the MAC season with wins over Bowling Green, at Eastern Michigan and Buffalo before dealing with the showdown at Western Michigan. Getting by the Broncos is the key, and then a win over Ball State makes it a 5-0 MAC start.

– Realistically, there’s a loss somewhere in conference play – likely at Northern Illinois – but wins over Kent State and Central Michigan means another West title.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

– The Rockets get walloped at home by Miami, and then struggle against Nevada and lose at Fresno State. Realistically, Toledo should be good enough to go 2-2 – at worst – in non-conference play.

– They get tripped up at Eastern Michigan, and shocked by either Bowling Green or Buffalo at home before losing at Western Michigan. In a disappointing October, Toledo is all but out of the MAC title hunt.

– Realistically, Toledo is still in the hunt for big things in November, but they lose at Northern Illinois before closing out with wins at Kent State and Central Michigan.

2018 Toledo Early Prediction: 9-3
