Daily Five: Top SEC NFL Draft Prospects Invited To The Combine
It’s not as big a year for NFL SEC talent as you might think. It’s okay, and there are the usual superstars up top, but the league won’t dominate the draft like it did in past seasons. Even so, there’s a whole lot to like. Here are the five most important prospects from the conference invited to the Combine.

5. WR Calvin Ridley, Alabama
No, he’s not Amari Cooper, and no, he’s not Julio Jones, but he has all the tools to be the next great NFL receiver coming out of Alabama.
It’s a weak draft class of receivers, but Ridley would still be a fringe first-rounder in just about any year, with an easy game to like without any major holes.
How much did he dominate for the Bama passing game last year? RB Bo Scarbrough was second on the team with 17 catches. Riley led the way with 63 grabs for 967 yards and five scores.
While he might not be known as a true speed burner, he might just be a better deep threat at the next level once he’s able to turn it all loose.
Don’t expect him to block in any functional way, but he’s smooth as silk, has the top gear to separate, and he goes and attacks the ball whenever it comes anywhere near him.
Size is a problem, he’ll get bullied at times, and he’s not going to outmuscle anyone, but he’s got the talent to be a No. 1 option for most NFL offenses.
