It’s not ns. Even so, there’s a whole lot to like. Here are the five most important prospects from the conference invited to the Combine.

5. QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma

Don’t try to make him out to be what he isn’t.

He’s not Johnny Manziel, and he’s not Russell Wilson, and he’s not Drew Brees, and he’s not whatever short quarterback you might want to compare him too.

However, size does matter when it comes to projecting NFL upside, and sort of like the world of the NBA Draft, if you’re going to take a chance, at least go big – literally.

Put his accuracy, attitude and football playing ability in Josh Allen’s body, and you’d have the greatest quarterback prospect ever.

If you really want to do the comp thing, to go way, WAY high, in terms of college accuracy, efficiency, and moxie, a less-mobile Steve Young is the dream projection, and on the low side, Case Keenum isn’t a knock.

The arm is more than good enough, and he’s devastatingly accurate on his deep throws, but his biggest asset is his attitude.

Maybe because he was a walk-on, maybe because of his size, and maybe because of just who he is, he’s always going to battle with a competitive fire at a whole other level.

Is he a first round talent? Not really, but quarterbacks who can throw like he can are rare. He’ll have a long career in the league, but it might be for several different teams.
