Daily Five: Offensive Guards & Centers Rankings Going Into The 2018 NFL Combine

3. C Billy Price, Ohio State

Why Billy Price Is Here On The List: When your problem is that you’re too intense and make mistakes because you try too hard, you’re going to be okay.

A football player’s football player, the 6-4, 315-pound Price as as tough and and powerful an interior blocker as any in the draft. He’s a blaster who blocks like he’s personally insulted.

Ultra-reliable, ultra-consistent, and versatile enough to kick out to guard if needed, he’s the type of player who becomes the leader of a line from the moment he sets foot on the field.

So what’s the issue? He relies a bit too much on his power and doesn’t dance enough, and he’s probably going to be too tough at times in the locker room.

What The NFL Types Want To See: Is it possible to be too intense a blocker? He’ll be the quarterback of someone’s line, and he has to be able to contain that fire at least a little bit. He’s a fun guy to interview; he’s not nuts, but seems ready to get up and block someone at the word go. Most importantly now, how hurt is he after suffering a shoulder injury during the bench press in Indy.

Bottom Line: Get ready for an NFL team’s fan favorite. Be stunned if he doesn’t take over a line – and maybe an offense – on Day One. He’ll slide to the fringes of the top 50 picks, but some coach on draft weekend will bang his fist on the table wanting this guy a lot earlier.
