2. DE Arden Key, LSU
Combine Question: Is the NFL about to get the 2016 Key or the 2017 version?
When he’s right, healthy, and rolling, he’s just SO good.
He crushed the SEC in 2016 with 12 sacks, looking like an almost-certain top five overall pick, if not No. 1 overall.
It might be nice if he was a wee bit lighter, but the 6-6, 265-pounder has special skills, freakish size, and an unteachable want-to when it comes to getting to the quarterback in smart, creative ways.
But after everything that happened in 2017, where does he go?
Can he keep his weight in check? He was about 20 pounds lighter when he rocked as a sophomore, and while he wasn’t necessarily sluggish last year, he wasn’t the same.
He had a shoulder problem, he took some time off from the team last offseason, and something was missing. Can he get it all back?
There’s a great shot he’ll have Indianapolis buzzing with a phenomenal workout – it’s what everyone wants. This draft has everything but a whole slew of sure-thing hybrid pass rushing killers.
Key can change that, fast.
