– Middle Tennessee might be dangerous, but it’s still a not-that-bad way to open up the season. Nevada could be a problem if the passing game finally gets going, but it’s still not that bad. However, going to Notre Dame is the problem, especially with the SEC schedule kicking in the following week.
On the plus side, four of the first five games are at home, but …
– The Commodores get a scrimmage against Tennessee State to gear up for a run of three road games in four weeks, starting with Georgia and ending with Kentucky and Arkansas. Making matters worse, after the open date is yet another road game, going to Missouri.
The Florida game is at home, as is the Tennessee date at the end of the regular season.
– There’s no Alabama from the West. There’s no LSU or Auburn, either. The Commodores are done a solid with Ole Miss and Arkansas from the other division.
