Breaking down and analyzing the 2018 UCLA Bruins football schedule.
2018 UCLA Bruins Football Schedule Analysis
– The Chip Kelly era is starting out with a few dangerous non-conference games, and a killer to see just how far the program has to go before it’s among the elite – or to see if it’s already there.
Cincinnati won’t be a bad tune-up, and then comes the fun – the trip to Oklahoma. Fresno State and its dangerous defense won’t be a breeze to close out the pre-Pac-12 run. And then there’s a week off to prepare for the conference run.
– The Bruins start out at Colorado, but the rest of the schedule against the division isn’t all that bad with Arizona and Utah having to come to the Rose Bowl. USC has to make the trip uptown, too. There isn’t a horrible run of road games, with four of the last six dates in LA.
– Washington, Oregon and Stanford from the North are on the slate, but the Huskies and Cardinal are home games. Yup, Kelly is going up to Eugene to face the Ducks. Missing Oregon State from the North stinks, but the Bruins miss Wazzu, too.
