– The Big 12 slate opens up against TCU. It’s followed up by two dates away from Austin, going to Kansas State and then dealing with Oklahoma. There aren’t two straight home games in the conference schedule, alternating form the TCU game on. On the plus side, there’s a week off before going to Oklahoma State. Get past that, and …

– Get to November alive for a spot in the Big 12 Championship, and the Longhorns should be favored in the final four games. West Virginia is good, but it’s a home game. At Texas Tech – despite the loss last year – Iowa State, and at Kansas makes for a not-that-bad finishing kick.
