SEC Final Analysis

It was SEC vs. SEC in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Shockingly, an SEC team won it.

It was the year of the coaching changes, with five giant ones changing the face and the expectations throughout the conference in what was – despite the two big boys up top – a horrible year for the league.

Florida wasn’t good, Tennessee was awful, LSU lost to a Sun Belt team at home, Missouri couldn’t beat anyone who was any good, Texas A&M gacked against UCLA, and on and on and on. That doesn’t mean Alabama and Georgia weren’t the two best teams in college football, but there was a whole lot of mediocrity across the SEC board – and that’s not okay.

It’s no longer the best conference in college football – that’s been the Big Ten for the last few years. That can change in a heartbeat, but this was a bad, boring, and ineffective league …

And then Alabama beat Georgia in an all-time great national title game.
