Breaking down and analyzing the 2018 Purdue Boilermakers football schedule.
2018 Purdue Boilermakers Football Schedule Analysis
– The Boilermakers will dive into the Big Ten schedule right out of the gate with a weeknight battle with Northwestern. At least it’s at home, as are the three non-conference dates with Boston College, Eastern Michigan and Missouri.
All of those will be tough in their own way – and asking for a 4-0 start might be too much – but if Purdue is unbeaten at this point with three wins over Power Five programs, it’ll be a huge national storyline.
– The first road game isn’t until late September, but the Boilermakers have to go to Nebraska as a start of a run of three road games in four dates. At least they get a week off going into the October part of the slate, and they’ll need it before going to Illinois for what might be a sneaky-tough game.
The East battles with Iowa and Wisconsin are at home, but the Minnesota date is on the road. After the October 6th week off, Purdue alternates road and home games the rest of the way.
– The interdivisional battles with the West are a killer – for the most part. The annual Old Oaken Bucket game with Indiana is on the road this year, and that goes along with back-to-back October battles with Ohio State and on the road at Michigan State.
