2018 Penn State Nittany Lions Football Schedule Analysis
– It’s an interesting start. Appalachian State won’t be the same killer it was last season when it won share of the Sun Belt title, but it’ll be a good early tune-up for the date at Pitt. Kent State eases up the end of the not-that-bad non-conference schedule. There’s a problem if the Nittany Lions aren’t 3-0.
– Starting out the Big Ten season at Illinois isn’t that big a deal, especially considering its against the West. If an interdivisional game is on the road, it might as well be in Champaign. Having to play Iowa and Wisconsin is a bad break, but at least both of those are at home.
– The Michigan game is in Ann Arbor. That stinks, but Ohio State, Michigan State, and again, Wisconsin? All at home, and the date with the Spartans comes after a week off.
The only problem is that after October 6th, there aren’t two home games in a row the rest of the way. However, a conference road slate of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Rutgers isn’t all that bad. In all, Penn State leaves Pennsylvania just those four times.
