Breaking down and analyzing the 2018 Northwestern Wildcats football schedule.
2018 Northwestern Wildcats Football Schedule Analysis
– Can the Wildcats keep up the momentum from last year? They’ll have to try right away with a weeknight August road date at Purdue for the Big Ten opener. This year, Duke – an ugly loss for NU last year – has to come to Evanston, with another home game with Akron to follow. The other non-conference game doesn’t come until November against Notre Dame, but at least that’s at home.
– There aren’t too many complaints with the schedule against the Big Ten West. Nebraska and Wisconsin both have to go to Evanston. However, back-to-back road games late in the year against Iowa and Minnesota will be tough before finishing up with Illinois at home. Again, the Purdue game is out of the way in the opener.
– Facing Michigan and Michigan State from the West stinks – especially going to East Lansing to deal with the Spartans – but at least there’s no Ohio State or Penn State to deal with. Yeah, the other interdivisional game is on the road, but it’s Rutgers.
