2018 NC State Wolfpack Football Schedule Analysis
– The Wolfpack couldn’t ask for a nicer start. Yeah, James Madison is one of the top FCS teams, but it’s still an FCS team. That kicks off a run of five home games in the first six – with the lone road game at Marshall.
Even the ACC start isn’t all that bad, with Virginia and Boston College having to come to Raleigh. While it’s a relatively easy run, hosting West Virginia will be a fight, the four FBS teams went bowling in 2017, and JMU was and will be national title-good. However …
– The payback comes in the second half of the season. The Pack have to go on the road for four of their last six games, including dates at Clemson and Louisville to make life tough. On the plus side, the Florida State game is at home. However, Wake Forest is just five days later.
– Missing Miami and Virginia Tech from the Coastal could be the biggest break of all. Going to North Carolina to close out the regular season isn’t all that bad, and dealing with Virginia in an interdivisional game is better than facing the Canes or the Hokies.
