Breaking down and analyzing the 2018 Mississippi State Bulldogs football schedule.
2018 Mississippi State Bulldogs Football Schedule Analysis
– The Joe Moorhead era gets an easy start with Stephen F. Austin before diving into a road game at Kansas State that will make or break the non-conference part of the fun. The other two non-SEC games? Louisiana and Louisiana Tech. Beat the Wildcats in Manhattan; have a nice 4-0 base to work around.
– The SEC schedule starts out with the two dates against the East: at Kentucky and Florida. There’s no Georgia to deal with – that’s the only thing that matters. Going to Lexington might not be a breeze, but that means there’s a nice stretch of three homes games in four weeks before getting a week off. However, that last home date is against Auburn.
– The Bulldog off week comes at a perfect time. It gets a break right in the middle of the season, and just before having to go to LSU. But that’s the problem – the LSU date is on the road, as as is the Alabama game a few weeks later.
Texas A&M and Arkansas have to come to Starkville, but five days after dealing with the Hogs is the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss in Oxford.
