Breaking down and analyzing the 2018 Iowa Hawkeyes football schedule.
2018 Iowa Hawkeyes Football Schedule Analysis
– It’s not a bad non-conference schedule, and all three games are at home, but they’re all sneaky-tough starting with a Northern Illinois team that might be the best in the MAC.
More than ever, the Iowa State game is a problem with the Cyclones likely coming into this with even more of a chip than last year after losing in overtime. Northern Iowa needs to be a layup, but the Panthers are always feisty against the in-state teams.
– The Big Ten season starts with a bang. Want to know where you stand in the world, Iowa? Wisconsin comes to Iowa City to kick things off. There’s a week off to chill before October, and then the team has to pay for the first four games being at home. Four of the next five games are on the road, starting out with Minnesota and finishing up with Purdue.
Fortunately, two of the last three games are at home and the road date at Illinois is hardly bad with Northwestern and Nebraska having to come Kinnick.
– Yeah, there’s a date at Penn State in interdivisional play, but there’s no Ohio State, Michigan or Michigan State to face. Having to go to Indiana isn’t that awful, and getting Maryland at home is nice considering the Nittany Lion problem comes right after.
