Kirby Smart started hot when he took the Georgia job a few years ago, and now he’s kicking it in.
It wasn’t a major shocker when top guard prospect Jamaree Salyer signed on with Smart and the Bulldogs, but there was reason for a little bit of an 11th hour panic.
Clemson, Florida, and Florida State made a huge late push to get the Atlanta native, but now Smart has his future cornerstone of the offensive interior.
Salyer was the big get, but 345-pound Trey Hill was another big signing for the Bulldog offensive line. And now, with RBs Zamir White and James Cook, WR Kearis Jackson, LB Adam Anderson and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt and Azeez Ojulari, that’s a nice class.
Throw in QB Justin Fields – everyone’s No. 1 overall prospect, or at least in the top three – and boom. The Georgia machine is rolling.
